Orlaith made a career out of something completely negative. When she was at school, she was obsessed with finding a way of getting these unsavoury girls to like her. She managed to brew a potion that could disguise pimples, as one of their troupe suffered from frequent break-outs. It was her ticket to popularity.
Nowadays, she failed to see why popularity had been so important to her. These girls who were supposedly her friends hardly kept in contact, to the point where when their eyes met across the street; they pretended to be preoccupied with something else. Even at Hogwarts, they weren't always pleasant to her. Orlaith always found getting along with girls to be quite a struggle; likely due to her family being comprised mostly of males.
So now Orlaith was working in Madam Primpernelle's Beautifying Potions, she was surrounded by girly girls. The types of girls she couldn't get on with. But a job's a job, she supposed.
It had been quiet that afternoon in the shop. Orlaith didn't usually serve customers, but today they were short-staffed so she sat behind the front desk. It was so boring. Time was going so slow, and she had no idea what to do with herself. She had read every copy of Witch Weekly the usual serving girls had left behind, but nothing really interested her there. She read the article about Maggie Spengler (who got along with her brothers) because it was quite inspirational.
She put the radio on. Her favourite song came over the waves immediately. Shit - she had to sing along to this. It was hard to hold back. So yeah - she might've looked like an idiot jiving about the place in song and dance but clearly no one was coming in today. Her dorkiness would never be discovered!
